Blue Dream - Original Santa Cruz Cut

One of best hybrids of all time

After growing out many “Blue Dream” cultivars, we went on the hunt for the original genetics.  It brought us to a farm down in Santa Cruz who had maintained the original Blue Dream line since the early 2000s. We decided to grow it out a couple years ago at Sugar Hill Farm and had the true origins confirmed when we got the labs back. The dominate terpenes include elevated aPinene and bPinene balanced with Myrcene, which is a key signature of the original genetics. This chemical profile is the reason that Blue Dream is one of best hybrids of all time.  Expect uplifting and giggly effects followed by a deep body relaxation— the perfect hybrid.  There are many “Blue Dream” offerings on the market, but this is the real deal. It’s a keeper and we are so grateful to share it.

*At Sugar Hill Farm, we’ve crossed this line with an extremely rare old cultivar called Molokai Frost, that has unusually elevated Pinene. The result was our Blue Hawaii Dream.   The medical community has been requesting flower from us that is Pinene rich for stress and anxiety reduction.

Heritage Notes

Blue Dream defined California’s market for roughly a decade, and its origin in Santa Cruz reflects a regional breeding culture that valued balance and aroma over raw potency. The Goat Farm clone line survived because growers who knew the difference kept it going by hand while faster-moving versions circulated commercially. Clone-only preservation is its own quiet tradition, and this is one of its better-known successes. Eventually the preservationist created seeds by a chemical technique called reversing.
