Puna Buddaz Frost
Hawaii’s “one-hitta-quitta”
The Big Island original, from the Puna district — and the spelling matters. Puna Buddaz inherited exceptional mold resistance from generations grown through torrential tropical downpours and hot, humid Hawaiian nights, conditions that flatten imported genetics. Locals have long called it a one-hitta-quitta, and the reputation holds.
One of the five legendary Hawaiian lines alongside Maui Wowie, Kona Gold, Kauai Electric, and Molokai Frost. A note worth making: an Amsterdam seed company released a version spelled "Budder" in the 1990s, which Hawaiian preservationists consider an unrelated Afghan hybrid trading on the name. This one we source directly from the Hawaiian island and brought it into our breeding program, where we crossed it with the rare Molokai Frost heirloom. Hence this is our own twist of Puna Buddaz.

Heritage Notes
Cannabis reached Hawai’i through Pacific trade routes and took hold in the volcanic soils of the Puna district on Hawai’i Island, where growers selected under conditions — torrential rain, relentless humidity — that most cannabis cannot survive. The mold resistance in Puna Buddaz is the direct product of that selection pressure. Pakalōlō is woven into local history, and the names carry weight: preservationists in Puna have fought hard to keep this one from being diluted by imitations.
