One Unicorn is a cultivar we developed by crossing Old Smuggler (AKA- The One)  x  Unicorn Butter.  Its roots that can be traced back to landraces brought to the States in the 1960s/ 1970s by one of the most famous smuggling operations in the world—the Brotherhood of Eternal Love (BOEL). Back then, the mother of Old Smuggler was called “The One.” It is a famous cross of 1976 Highland Thai × 1971 Kandahar Afghani. It went through further breeding with Swabi Pakistani by an east coast breeder.  Unicorn Butter is a very balanced 1:1 and the work of Alpine Genetics.  The combination of these honed genetics have provided us with a very special cultivar with strong medicinal benefits.

Heritage Notes

Southern Africa has one of the oldest continuous cannabis traditions on earth, where the plant has been known as dagga for centuries and grown in household plots as much as in fields. Durban’s coastal landrace proved unusually adaptable, finishing early enough to travel — a trait that made it foundational to breeders worldwide from the 1970s onward. Few landraces have given so much to modern cannabis while remaining so recognizably themselves.
